Kimberly Sweetman

KIMBERLY SWEETMAN
she/her/hers

Kimberly has lived in Durham for 6 years.  She has a BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a MA from Emory University and a MS (Library Science) from Catholic University of America.  She is currently the Associate Dean, of the UNH Library.  She is also an Alternate Library Trustee for the Durham Public Library.

Below Kimberly describes why she would like to be a Library Trustee.

I am running for Durham Public Library Trustee because it is a way that I can serve our community. Although I have dedicated my career to academic libraries, public libraries are an equally important institution to me. I have been an avid public library user throughout my life, which includes living in six states and three countries. As an appointed Alternate Trustee for the past year, I have contributed substantively to discussions about Durham Public Library policy and done my best to represent community needs, library ethics and applicable law.
