The Town of Durham, NH is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant to the Planning, Zoning, Building, and Assessing Offices. This is a full-time, 40-hour a week position starting on August 29, 2022.  

The Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for receiving and processing of building permits, scheduling of inspection appointments, responding to landowner requests for assistance, records and file maintenance, receiving applications and assembling information for meeting packets.  The Administrative Assistant also provides administrative support to Land Use Boards (Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Historic District Commission and Conservation Commission), municipal officials, Town departments, landowners and project applicants. Duties also include assisting the public with general questions about assessing and property assessments.

Associates degree and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar field of administrative work or any equivalent of education and progressively responsible experience with additional relevant work experience substituting for the required education.  Must have strong computer, organizational and customer service skills.  Must be able to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
