Monday July 28th UPDATE -Traffic/Construction Advisory – Madbury Road at Pettee Brook Lane Intersection
Please be advised that beginning on Monday, July 21st, 2025 through Monday August 4th, 2025 Durham Public Works Contractor, G.W. Brooks, will be performing culvert reconstruction activities at the intersection of Pettee Brook Lane and Madbury Road. Pouring of concrete is scheduled to occur on Monday July 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM, weather dependent. Curing of concrete to achieve proper strength is anticipated to be completed by Friday August 1, at which time backfilling of the excavation will be permitted.
This will require a full closure of the southbound lane of Madbury Road at the culvert location with daily closures of the northbound lane for construction equipment to stage. A full detour package, similar to last summer's route, will be in place for motorists and is shown below. Access to Woodman Road and Mathes Terrace from the southbound approach will be maintained at all times, as well as access to businesses in the project area.
