V.       7 Durham Point Road.  Application to make repairs to front and easterly side of house including replacing cedar siding, trim, and front door. Jan Rice and Catherine Fitzgerald-Rice, property owners.  Alan Beasley, Ricci Lumber, contractor.  Map 6, Lot 11-5.  HDC

VI.      UNH Main Street South Sidewalk Project.  UNH presentation regarding this NHDOT-sponsored project.  Discussion of Nancy Page gravestone research, findings, potential impacts and NH Resource Agency review timeline.   University of New Hampshire and CMA Engineers.  HC

VII.     10 Newmarket Road – Tree Removal.  Follow up to HDC action on August 2 about removal of trees at 10 Newmarket Road regarding:  a) large maple tree that was removed; b) box elder tree at rear of house; and c) tall maple tree next to driveway.  Stephen Bedard, contractor.  Susanna Nichols, property owner.  Map 5, Lot 3-1.  HDC

VIII.    30 Newmarket Road.  Discussion about donation from Dennis Meadows of 5.3 acre lot at 30 Newmarket Road (adjacent to the former Mill Pond Center) to the Town of Durham.  Map 6, Lot 9-6-1.  HDC/HC

IX.       Demolition Review Process.  Discussion about process for review of applications for demolition permits.  HC

X.        Other Business

Shall the HDC/HC submit a meeting synopsis for inclusion in the weekly Friday Updates?

HDC/HC.  HDC stands for Historic District Commission.  HC stands for Heritage Commission.  The commission is one body with two roles.  The HDC reviews applications in the Historic District.  The Heritage Commission’s broader role is to promote historic preservation throughout Durham.
