Reason for Interest in Running for Elected Office:
Our family has found Durham a lovely place to live. I firmly believe children will become who they see us being, not what we say. My husband and I teach our children it is important to give a voice to those who do not have one, and that we must teach our children how to stand for what’s right by doing it ourselves. It’s a necessary part of our civic process for everyone to take a turn of service in our communities. It is vital for a town councilor to accurately represent the will of the citizens and the best interest of the town. This balance may require hard conversations, yet I am willing to engage in those endeavors when necessary to participate in keeping Durham a wonderful place to live.
