Doug Marino - Town Council
DOUG MARINO - Town Council
83 Quad Way, UNH
Occupation: Student
Education: University of New Hampshire
Years as Durham Resident: 1-1/2 Years
Previous Service on Governmental/Community/Civic Boards, Commissions, Committees, or Organizations: I’ve had the opportunity to serve in many governance organizations. For three years I was a member of the New Hampshire Legislative Youth Advisory Council, a statutory committee of the New Hampshire State Legislature that was tasked with advising the House and Senate on issues effecting youth. I’ve been a member of the University of New Hampshire Student Senate for the past year and a half. The Student Senate is the governance organization that represents all undergraduate students at UNH.
Reason for Interest in Running for Elected Office: I’ve been very active in politics since I was young. I’ve always loved to serve and help others in any way I can. I would like to serve on the Town Council so that students at UNH can have some representation at the town level. I want to work to advance civil rights for all people in our town and help grow the local economy by supporting small businesses.
Additional background information not included in responses above, if applicable. If I have the honor of being elected to the Town Council, I will work every single day to advance the interests of the people of Durham. I will strive to be the most attentive and accessible member of the council. I will always be there for my constituents and I will represent them with the utmost commitment.
