ANDREW SHARP -  Library Trustee
20 Cowell Drive

Education:  BA, Modern Foreign Language (Russian), James Madison University, 1995; M.Ed. College Student Affairs, The Pennsylvania State University, 2007

Occupation:  Academic Advisor

Years as Durham Resident:  9 1/2 years

Previous Service on Governmental/Community/Civic Boards:   I have served as an alternate trustee on the library’s board of trustees since summer, 2018.

Reason for Interest in Running for Elected Office:  I love living in Durham. Serving on the Library Board of Trustees would allow me to give something back to Durham and also to work with an institution I have cherished since I was a young child; the public library. I have been an enthusiastic supporter of public libraries in every community I’ve lived. I believe that libraries have an important role in their communities. I would appreciate the opportunity to help shape Durham’s public library with an eye toward balancing residents’ needs and the town’s fiscal constraints.
