Reason for Interest in Running for Elected Office:
I have been involved with the library for a number of years, was part of a core group of people on The Capital Campaign Committee to support the public vote for the library.  I was on the committee organizing the library opening ceremony. In 2014 I was invited to be an Alternate Trustee.  My commitment to the library is strong. I am also the Trustee link to the Friends of the Library. I helped organize an Art Auction, selling 2 paintings by Durham artist Arthur DiMambro, proceeds supporting Friends of the Library as well as the library. I have been a trustee since 2015.

Additional Background Information:
I was upset by the size and look of the buildings and the increase of student housing in Durham.  I formed an organization called Concerned Citizens, a group of citizens who have taken action in speaking to the various town boards.  I was asked by Michael Behrendt, the Town Planner, to be a part of a design committee, working with Beth Olshansky and Barbara Dill.  We collaborated with some Planning Board members, the owners of Madbury Commons, the Mark Henderson project and Paulys Pocket.  Our focus was on building color. We were successful in coming to agreement about these significantly improved designs which ultimately helped the Planning Board approve the buildings.

For over 40  years I have been a psychotherapist in Private Practice in Durham, specializing in marriage and family therapy. I have lived in the Woodridge Road community for 50 years where I raised my four sons, all Oyster River and UNH graduates.

I am also an artist of graphic design, creating posters to advertise Friends of the Library events.
