Subject: Speech at Town Meeting this Evening

Perhaps Jennifer Torgensen, a marketing team member for the possible extension 
for River Woods in Durham, has contacted you.

Please understand that I am not under any pay! I'm honored that she asked me, and, 
upon two days of consideration, I thought I might have something for the council 
to consider, but I am NOT an agency.

I have some doubt, since I've only lived in Durham from Feb. 12th, 1916, to say 
anything (I retired from the Univ. of North Carolina in Charlotte; having visited 
New Hampshire and friends and colleagues at UNH.I had no way to get the Town 
Hall.

*	I hope your audience will not be bored by my mother's death in Wisconsin. 
For 10 years, I begged her (in her early 90's), to move into a senior living 
community. She refused altogether. In the next six years,I spent visiting 
senior communities in North Carolina, New Hampshire,and Wisconsin. 
Again, she refused. The result was her home blast into fire, killing her and 
her cat.
I've visited River Woods in Exeter, and was enormously impressed by their care of 
their residents. It's also a no-profit organization. My mother would have loved it, 
but she was too afraid. I trust ,should the River Woods in Durham, so she and I 
could have lived close to each ot.
