Dear Town Planners, et al.
I am writing to vehemently speak out against the type of development that is being considered that includes 
“dormitory style housing", or any type of student housing  in downtown Durham, or anywhere else in town.  I 
respectfully suggest that there is more than enough student housing off-campus at this time.  More student 
housing should be built on-campus, if it is truly needed.

Out of town developers should not be allowed to come in and overbuild in an unsustainable way.  We need 
to be vigilant about this now!

With regard to the Mill Plaza:  an extraordinary plan was developed for the Plaza by outstanding architects 
and a huge amount of citizen participation in 2008 (I think that was when).  I think that plan should be 
used  as a template for any development that happens in the Mill Plaza area.  Do not throw the baby out with 
the bathwater.
