Our plan remains to primarily use the Sundays between now and early April to accelerate progress on the Southern Building where we are most behind schedule due to the weather. We believe these Sundays through early April are absolutely critical to allowing us to enclose the South Building to enable interior work and thus make our delivery date. After early April, the vast majority of exterior construction will be complete and we can work on Sundays on the interior of the buildings per our current Notice of Decision. However, we’d like the flexibility to use selected Sundays through August to make progress with landscaping, bridges, paving and other such exterior work that may be necessary. We don’t envision using every Sunday through August 15 for exterior work but we need the flexibility. Here are some accommodations we are committed to making to reduce any impact of our Sunday work. 1. We are committed to working a modified Sunday schedule 9- 4 2. We will also plan not to use loud construction equipment on Sundays when possible. 3. While there are few neighbors and abutters related to the site, we are aware of the nearby Church and we will specifically not perform loud construction activities during their Sunday Services. 4. We will notify the DPW in advance of our working a Sunday. 5. We will agree to avoid construction on a Sunday graduation day and other Sundays of peak activity in Durham. 6. We are generally open to anything reasonable to minimize the noise related to the construction and we will continue to work with the DPW to make accommodations on Sundays as they may reasonably request. We look forward to presenting to the PB on Wednesday and thanks for the early agenda slot.
