The Town of Durham has hired Cross Country Appraisal Group LLC of
Concord, New Hampshire as the Assessing Contractor for the Town.
A representative from Cross Country will be in the Durham Assessor’s
Office once or twice a week to handle citizen questions. Please
call Administrative Assistant Karen Edwards at 868-8065 Monday through
Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to make an appointment with the Assessor

The assessor's office is responsible for ensuring
equitable assessments, which distribute the Town's tax burden in
accordance with state
statutes. Assessments are based on fair market value
of property and are applied in a fair, equitable and consistent
manner. Your assessing
office strives to provide the best possible customer service. Information
regarding: assessments, tax exemptions,
tax credits, tax deferrals, current use assessments, conservation
restriction assessments, discretionary easements, abatement requests,
and timber tax is available through this office. Physical data on
buildings and land, as well as deed and property ownership information
can also be found in this office.

“Property owners may request that their property tax card
information be completely removed from the Town website OR to have
only the photograph of their property removed. This can be accomplished
by contacting the Assessing Office at 868-8064.”
