The Wastewater Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the community’s 2.5 million gallons a day Activated Sludge Wastewater Treatment Plant, 4 pumping stations, nearly 20 miles of collection lines, septage receiving, sludge disposal and inspection of wastewater service installations.

Under normal conditions, approximately 1.3 million gallons of sewage are treated daily. The average detention time through the plant is 24.2 hours, and approximately 2,200 tons of dewatered solids are sent to Merrimack, NH to be composted annually.

New Municipal Wastewater Connection/Work Order – Ordinance Regulated
Required for connection to the Town’s wastewater system. Fees are:

  • One-Family residence (no formal permit) - $400.00
  • Commercial/Industrial (Permit issued following Town Council approval) $0.005/gal for one year’s projected usage ($200.00 minimum). Industrial pretreatment required.
