Fire Codes

The Durham Fire Department enforces the state fire code and has adopted the 2000 editions of the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code 101 and Fire Prevention Code 1 locally under Chapter 68 of the Code of the Town of Durham. This allows us to include specific regulations under such sections as Fire Lanes, Permits and Code Appeals Process. Also included in Chapter 68 is the Durham Sprinkler Ordinance.
