Septic System Codes

A certified septic designer must design the system. Test pits must be witnessed by the Durham Building/Health Inspector; Town fee is $100.00. Then the designed drawings must be submitted to the Town Zoning Officer for review. The Zoning Office then forwards the completed application along with the required $150.00 State fee to the DES for technical review and approval. The system installation is inspected by the NH DES prior to covering/backfill and then a Final inspection is performed by the Durham Building/Health inspector.
